Pulse (Reiteration) 2008

Stainless steel, electric motors, bolts, cables, motion sensors

Installation size variable

Four units lie alongside each other, their arms and cabling bound together in a tangled mess. The space is completely dark, except for a small light emitted from each of the units. When a viewer steps into the space, the units attempt to move, but their movement is severely limited by their binding, and they struggle and creak. The small lights cast large shadows of this struggling onto the walls and ceiling in a dull, bluish-white light.
